Introducing the AscensionWx Helium Weather Miner, with rewards provided by KandaWeather

We offer an alternative to WeatherXM, where you can get daily blockchain rewards for crowdsourcing weather from your backyard.

Instead of purchasing the weather station through WeatherXM, you can purchase the SenseCAP S2120 from 3rd party OEMs at a far reduced price and with a more robust community reward system. The AscensionWx project has been live on Telos Mainnet for over a year with over 85 currently deployed 3D printed weather sensors.

Weather Station “Lock-In” Rates

Having hosted some Helium miners ourselves, we recognize the frustration that comes from fluctuating HNT and WeatherXM rewards.

With this in mind, we are instead providing users with “Lock-In” rates, where the daily reward rate in USD on Day 1 will be the same as Day 500, assuming good quality of the station data. With this method, you can be sure that as the network grows, your ROI date will always be the same.

As of February 1, 2023, our current “Lock-In” rate is $0.10 for the SenseCAP 8-in-1 S2120 Weather Station.

Additionally, we offer the following improvements over WeatherXM:

• Issued tokens are on blockchain Mainnet and have actual market USD value on digital currency exchanges
• On-chain publicly-available weather data storage
• On-chain quality algorithm
• Ability to purchase direct from manufacturer for $150+ less and get it delivered in 4–10 days (more on this below)

We believe the value of the weather station network comes from the data it provides, not from logos and branding!

WeatherXM’s weather station will cost you over $550 with shipping and VAT taxes, but you can easily save over $150 buying direct from OEM (original equipment manufacturers) and 3rd party resellers.

FAQ :

How is the “Lock-In” Rate method financially sustainable?
Even though each station’s “Lock-In” rate will never change, the “Lock-In” Rates for future customers is variable. The current rate is $0.10 per day.

KandaWeather is a block producer (BP) on the Telos blockchain, so we have good flow of Telos tokens for distribution. The new rate amounts for upcoming batches of stations will depend on our finances at the time.
